While Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's meeting with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari in Russia captured all the attention,  Singh's talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao may turn out to be just as important in easing off renewed pressure on the complex relationship between the world's rising powers.

India said this month it will bolster its defences on the unsettled China border, deploying up to 50,000 troops and its most latest Su-30 fighter aircraft at a base in the northeast.

While upgrading the defences has been a long-running objective, the timing seemed to suggest New Delhi's renewed fears of "strategic encirclement" by China by deepening ties with all of its neighbours, not just Pakistan but also Sri Lanka and Nepal.

The chief of the Indian air force, reflecting the anxieties in the security establishment, said China was a far bigger threat than Pakistan because so little was known about Beijing's combat capabilities.

Predictably enough, the Indian military moves and statements drew a strong response from China's official media warning that New Delhi's tough new posture was dangerous if it thought it would compel China to cave in. Beijing was in a different league, both in terms of national power, economic scale and global influence, the media said.

On Monday, Hu and Singh met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the BRIC meeting that followed in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg. Details from the meeting were sketchy, but the Press Trust of India said the two leaders supported an early meeting of a joint economic group to push trade ties. 

They also touched on the border dispute at the heart of the more than four decades of distrust, noting that top negotiators were due to meet in August. The People's Daily said Hu stressed on expanding economic cooperation and investment flows and aims to take bilateral trade to $60 billion in 2010. It stood at $51.8 billion in 2008, the paper said.

India's decision to attend the SCO, where it has observer status, was also a step forward. Since its inception the forum has been seen in India as China-centric with the main strategic objective of limiting U.S. dominance on China's periphery and in that way prevent the hemming-in of both China and Russia.

By attending the summit is New Dehi signalling its intention to engage China on a broad front and not shy away?

And did Beijing shift ground a bit by acceding to the declaration by the BRIC - Brazil, Russia, India and China - calling for U.N. reform and saying that the grouping understood and supported India and Brazil's aspirations to play a greater role in the United Nations.

Both Brazil and India are candidates for permanent members of the Security Council and Beijing has long been cold to the idea of at least its southern neighbour getting a place on the high table. It wasn't a ringing endorsement at Yekaterinburg but perhaps the first shuffling of chairs?

新华网重庆6月27日电：重庆市近日查处31名违规更改户籍，试图获取聚居地少数民族高考招生加分资格的考生。其中，两名考生分别为石柱土家族自治县副县长之女和巫山县委组织部副部长与巫山县招生办公室主任之子。
    
    一个“聚居地少数民族高考招生加分政策”让某些官员子女考生红了眼，这没有什么好奇怪的，任何一个不法官员手中有了权力，他就必然要将手中的权力最大化，私有化，因为不这么做，他们就觉得在权力使用上“不划算”，而只有将权力私有化了之后，才“最划算”，也最有能耐。有权不使，过期作废，就是这些人的信条。
    
    31名违规更改户籍、民族成分的考生，除了官员子女之外，是平民吗？是守法公民吗？当然也不是，起码，他们勾结了派出所的户籍警，这是最起码最基本的一关。派出所里户籍警也在高考的经济大蛋糕里分一杯羹，而户籍警之上，又有一连串的上家下家相勾连，若是拍一部更改民族成分高考短片的话，人们会看到一些丑恶的嘴脸。
    
    一条高考的横杆，看上去很公平很公平，几乎没有作假的可能，然而善良的人们错了，他们可以通过五花八门的加分而越过这条横杆，而更改民族成分，无疑就是一条不错的捷径。其他的加分形式，恐怕没有这个“民族成分加分”更便捷，因此它才会成为官员子女们的香饽饽。高考横杆面前，人人平等，而在这里人们看到了官员子女以及与官员有关系与警察有关系的人们的子女纷纷在这条横杆面前“矮了半截”，一溜而过。什么高考独木桥，在这些人眼里，既有捷径，又有火箭飞机可乘。
    
    更改完民族成分之后，官员子女们还会更改什么？小时偷针，大时就要偷金山，这是没有办法的劣根性。这些人毕业之后，在当地公务员考试以及其他政府部门岗位招聘面试中，都可以先打一个地洞钻进去，横杆尚且能溜过去，当然这些人更善于打洞。在高考横杆面前当了一回贼，在将来的社会经历中，他就可能当无数次盗。（李振忠）

                            

中国大学生首富身价达10亿

近日网络曝光的中国大学生富豪榜单中，其中“第一首富”竟出自浙江——是网游新锐杭州渡口网络的金津，毕业于浙江理工大学，身价达10亿人民币。榜单里还有郭敬明，排行15，“财富”为3500万元。

这与当今就业难成了很鲜明的对比。不过，也没有什么奇怪，例外的事总是会有的，这些富豪的背后，除了有过人的才能之外，不少是有“家底”的人，有家庭的支持，有资本去创业，总比那些一穷二白的人要强得多。

曾经有个朋友，是快毕业的研究生，对投资颇有研究。他说了一句话：“我就算看中那里有钱赚，但是没钱投资，有什么用呢？”在现实生活，大部分的人是“巧妇难为无米之炊”。毕竟，有钱人不少多数，成功的人也不是多数。为什么别人成功自己不成功，看起来是一个借口，实际上是一个无奈。因为，成功的背后除了自身的努力，还有机遇、时间与空间的完美对接才实现。很多人有才能，但是却没有机会。一旦你有机会上去，有人眼红，拼命阻挡你的前进，让你步步为艰。

社会就是这样现实。前几天去人才市场考察一下。遇到一个公司招人，一个从外企出来的销售人员应聘区域经理，相当于分公司的经理一样，对方开出的待遇竟是底薪1800元/月，足令人吐血。对方的冠冕堂皇的理由是：你的过去多么辉煌是过去的事，在我这里是零。言外之意，他不承认应聘者的经历。这个企业最后还是招不到人，因为他们的用人观念不对。
企业方还说这么一句话：“现在很多人都没有工作！”在他们看来，去人才市场的都是没有工作和能力的人。可是，对于贤才，很多是供不应求。

人力资源在社会总是相对过剩，但人才总是供不应求的。有资金机会的人才，大多选择自己创业。但是，对于刚毕业的大学生，笔者还是希望先在职场上锻炼好，积累经验，到自己觉得是时候创业的时候，再努力寻找机会，自己做老板。这是一条不错的职业路子。

LOS ANGELES: Michael Jackson's family wants a private autopsy of the pop icon because of unanswered questions about how he died and the doctor who was with him, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said Saturday.

"It's abnormal," he said from Chicago a day after visiting the Jackson family. "We don't know what happened. Was he injected and with what? All reasonable doubt should be addressed."

People close to Jackson have said since his death that they were concerned about the superstar's use of painkillers. Los Angeles County medical examiners completed an autopsy Friday and said Jackson had taken prescription medication.

Medical officials also said there was no indication of trauma or foul play. An official cause of death could take weeks.

 

The coroner's office released the body to Jackson's family Friday night. There was no immediate word on whether the second autopsy was being performed right away. Jesse Jackson described the family as grief-stricken.

"They're hurt because they lost a son. But the wound is now being kept open by the mystery and unanswered questions of the cause of death," he said.

Two days after Jackson died at a Los Angeles hospital, his most famous sister, Janet, arrived at the mansion Jackson had been renting. She drove up in a Bentley and left without addressing reporters.

Moving vans also showed up at the Jackson home, leaving about an hour later. There was no indication what they might have taken away.

There was also no word from the Jackson family on funeral plans. Many of Jackson's relatives have gathered at the family's Encino compound, caring there for Jackson's three children.

A person close to the family said they feel upset and angry about a lack of information about those who were around the pop superstar in his final days. The person requested anonymity because of the delicate nature of the situation.

Jackson had been rehearsing for 50 London concerts aimed at restoring his crown as the King of Pop. He died Thursday at age 50 after what his family said appeared to be cardiac arrest.

A 911 call from Jackson's rented home reported that his personal doctor was trying to revive him without success. Police have talked to Dr. Conrad Murray and have said they intend to speak with him again but have stressed he is not a criminal suspect.

Murray has yet to speak publicly since Jackson's death. Police towed his car from Jackson's home hours after Jackson died and said later it could contain medication or other evidence. Coroner's officials also said Jackson was taking prescription medication but declined to elaborate.

　　2008年8月，吸引无数眼球的霍利菲尔德和鲁伊兹之间的世界重量级拳王争霸赛在北京如期举行前，有炒作说会有一场争霸赛之前的大型演唱会或慈善晚宴，据称，迈克尔·杰克逊兄妹等大牌会到，但那只是一种炒作，在他的生命停止之前，他只在亚洲的日本、韩国、马来西亚和中国台湾开过个唱，他与地球上一块巨大的版图、与中国内地永远无缘了。
